Japan 2011 - 19th day - first part - 18. 4. 2011

Our second trip around Kamakura (鎌倉市) temples. First one is poorly documented (10.4.), so this time we both took photos of everything :). We got off train from Tokio at Kita-Kamakura station (北鎌倉駅) and went by foot to Kamakura city. Of the temples we visited most notable is one of the most important Zen Buddhist temple Engaku-ji (円覚寺) and Rinzai Zen temple Meigetsu-in (福源山明月院). [photogallery]

Japan 2011 - 19th day - second part - 18. 4. 2011

We left main road and passed through beutiful Kenchō-ji (建長寺) temple as we started climbing the hills surrounding Kamakrura (鎌倉市). Stairs to the last part of temple were magnificent - on top long stairs through forest slope were statues of crow demons, Tengu, guarding the way. From there we took small mountain path through forests and after few kilometers we arrived to Zuisei-ji temple (錦屏山瑞泉寺). From there we went to Kamakura city and returned by train to Yokohama where we had hotel. [photogallery]
